Most advisors today work with their clients to create and grow their wealth. We find many advisors’ main focus is contributions and the interest rates their clients’ investments are earning. While creating and growing wealth is a very important phase of each client’s life, it’s not the only phase we concentrate on at New Horizon. We’ve found that as people enter their 50s and 60s, they shift their concerns to protecting and preserving their life savings.
At New Horizon, our focus is to help our clients avoid the market declines that we saw from 2001 to 2003 and again from 2008 to 2009. As our clients start to approach retirement, planning for their retirement distribution in the most tax-advantaged manner is one of our top priorities. The amount of money we pay in taxes can change the quality of our retirement and also the quantity of income that’s available to us during our retirement years.
